Custom mascots
What goes into the price of a custom mascot costume?
A custom mascot has no price tag yet: it is priced from your brief. Here is what that price is made of — from the first sketch to the box at your door — and how to get an exact quote.

A ready-made model from our catalog has its exact price on its own page. A custom character does not exist yet, so its price is put together from your brief: what the character looks like, how big it is, what it is made of and how many you need.
For orientation: custom mascot costumes start from $1,200 per costume, design included, and most cost $1,200–$2,200. Where yours lands depends on the factors below.
Looking for the price of a ready-made costume instead? Catalog models start from $1,200, and all prices by section are on our mascot costume prices page. This guide is about costumes made to your own design.
Design and the sketch
Every custom mascot starts with a design. You don’t need a finished one: a logo, a rough drawing, a photo or even a written description is enough. Our designers turn it into a color sketch of your character, and nothing is sewn until you approve it.
The design is part of the price of the costume, not a separate bill. If you have a brand book or exact brand colors, send them with your brief: the sketch will start from them.
Approval rounds
For a custom character you approve the key stages yourself:
- The color sketch — how the character looks.
- The specification — what exactly we make, the price, the timeline and the payment terms, agreed before you pay.
- Photos of the head frame during production, before the faux fur goes on — the last moment to adjust shapes.
The earlier a change comes, the less work it undoes: a sketch is simply redrawn, while a head that is already shaped has to be partly rebuilt. Collect all comments from your team before you approve each stage.
Size and silhouette
The bigger and more complex the outline, the more frame, faux fur and handwork the costume takes. Wings, tails, long ears and oversized heads all add material and sewing hours, and an extra-large figure is priced differently from a standard character.
Tell us your performer’s height in the brief: a costume for a non-standard height is quoted individually.
The head
The head is the most complex part of a mascot. A simple rounded face is quicker to build than a head with a long snout, a mane, horns or sculpted details. Heads are shaped on a foam frame; for complex shapes we build a 3D model first to get the proportions right. Our guide What’s inside a mascot costume explains how a head is built.
Mechanics add to the price as well: winking eyes, an opening mouth or a fan in the head.
Materials
Faux fur, fleece, sequins and printed fabrics differ both in price and in the work they need. Long faux fur, sequins and multi-colored panels cost more than smooth fleece. Our costumes are made with faux fur and fabrics — no animal fur.
Our production manager suggests fabric and fur options that suit your character and agrees the colors and textures with you.
Logos, outfit and details
A character in a uniform, a gown or a detailed outfit is almost two costumes in one. Your logo on the chest, a jersey in team colors with a number, a cap or a scarf — each detail is agreed in the specification and priced with it.
Options are priced the same way: ventilation openings, a fan in the head or a cooling vest for summer events and hot climates, or a carry case for transport.
Quantity
Brands, clubs and promo teams often order two or more identical costumes. We make them from the same patterns and the same materials, so they match. If you need a series, say so in the brief and ask about batch pricing.
Timeline and your event date
A catalog model made to order takes 3–5 weeks. For your own character, the sketch and the approvals come before sewing, so the timeline depends on the design; it is stated in the order confirmation or invoice.
Tell us your event date in the very first message. We check whether we can make it in time before you order, so the date is part of the quote from the start.
Shipping, duties and VAT
Shipping is not part of the costume price: we calculate it for your country before you pay. It depends on the weight and size of the box and on the country. A mascot costume usually travels in a box of about 80 × 55 × 55 cm, 8–9 kg, inside a protective cover bag, by EMS with a tracking number — and a bigger character needs a bigger box.
Import duties and VAT, if your country charges them, are paid by the recipient under local rules. Every parcel travels with a commercial invoice in English and a packing list that show the real value. Details by country are on our delivery and customs page.
What is always included
Whatever the character, the price of a custom costume covers:
- the design and the sketch for your approval;
- the complete costume as designed — usually the head, the suit, gloves, shoes and the outfit;
- photos and a video of your costume before it ships;
- packing in a box with a protective cover bag, a commercial invoice and a packing list.
Example: a bull mascot for a sports team
Here is how these factors play out in a real project. Our bull mascot for a sports team started from the team logo. After the client approved the sketch, we drew up a full technical layout of the costume; our production manager agreed the fabrics and fur with the client, who received photo and video reports at every stage. The result is a bull in the team’s uniform with the logo on its chest.
How to get an exact quote
- Send us your logo, drawing or photo — or describe the character in a few words.
- Tell us how many costumes you need, your performer’s height if it is non-standard, the event date and the country of delivery.
- List the extras you want: a logo, a jersey number, a fan in the head, a carry case.
- Our team replies with a price range and a realistic timeline. Once you approve the sketch, the price, the timeline and the payment terms are fixed in the specification before you pay.
